really? straws? sweet... they are hella cheap... The surface of them isn't too smooth? bacteria can still grow on it? if so, that's awesome... How long of a piece were they cut into?? how do they compare to pot scrubbies?

The surface is smooth, but bacteria can grow on any surface. It. Has a pretty low surface area, but considering 100straws cost about $1. you could use a ****load of them.

yep. they do have reasonable surface area. they are very cheap and i was at the dollar store, so i said "what the hay " and got them. scrubbies do have abit more surface area but these straws work swell

put a couple sticks of PVC pipe through a wood chipper, give it a good wash and you got yourself a bunch of "bio bail" for a few bucks.

sounds like a great idea but i dont think most of us have wood chippers. it is a great idea though.
