My Petsmart mutt from years ago, that was equally as savage. Not even fully mature at the time of that photo. My biggest regret in this hobby was rehoming this fish, due to his aggression towards tank mates that I had attempted with him, and with limited tank space I ignorantly felt I deserved a pure specimen, over one with more of a mixed pedigree. Such a character he was, I still miss this fish, so be careful or you may find that you need another tank, instead of rehoming. :)

Just out of curiousity, what do you guys feed your amphs? I've been feeding nls thera a pellets and they've been spitting them out. I've also got some blackworm pellets they've been eating with gusto. I'm a big believer in NLS but just wondering which specific version you feed yours or do you go with another brand? Anyone tried the probiotix version?

Mine will eat almost anything, and any size of anything. I typically just feed regular formulas, nothing special or extra anything. I also seed my own probiotics blend to my tanks each week. (Bio-Clean)

Yep. I've been refreshing my memory on the subject. I see more recently people (you specifically) have moved to bioclean. I'll take a look.

LOL, yes it will last most members a long time. I add a 1/4 teaspoon to each tank (125) weekly, and at that rate it should last me several years.

Well I was tired of watching them chase each other endlessly so I went to home depot and got some pvc pipes for easy ready hides. The chasing has stopped considerably. None seem overly stressed. No hiding near the back corner or behind intake tubes or whatever. So I'm guessing it's stressing me out more than it's actually stressing them out.

Oh yeah, the constant chasing and bickering as they figure things out among themselves is not very calming. This may end up being the only thing about trying my amph community that I may regret. So far just a hoga relentlessly chasing the largest devil at times but Im sure as the others get larger he will go at them too. In the end it may come to me just keeping one amph in my community if I get too tired of the bickering.

Your plan to keep one should make it easier. Hard decision will be to determine which one is the keeper... my money is still the Petsmart fish, lol

Same. I'm guessing that one is going to have the best markings. But right now it's the shyest. Though that probably has something to do with him being in a 20 long bare bottom QT tank and the others in a 75. I may have to put a separator in there once i combine them considering he's at least twice the size of the largest F1 midas. But I do want to keep the midas long enough to make a judgement call...hopefully I'm able to.
