Best pellet for flowerhorn

It actually has 9 different types of algae/seaweed.

I raised all of my FH on regular formula NLS.

Plenty enough krill in the regular formulas without adding any additional krill. In fact too much krill isn't good for a fish, due to the fluoride content. The issue with krill, and this appears to be at the least species dependant, as well as water hardness, is the effect that the fluoride found in krill can have on the growth and overall health of a fish. Fluoride can accumulate in the kidneys and bones, which is also why the EU restricts the amount that farms can use in their feed, for fish destined for human consumption.

Thank you for correcting me. I assume harder water means more fluoride? As per Raleigh gov website the fluoride is at 0.7 ppm.

Generally the softer the water, the greater the potential for health issues with the ingestion of fluoride.

Without being a brand snob, here's some ingredients that I tend to avoid. Corn, soybeans, soybean oil, pea protein, potato protein, and especially ingredient splitting, where as an example wheat flour, wheat germ, and wheat middlings, all add up to a LOT of wheat when combined as a total for wheat, in a formula. For plant matter I always choose aquatic plant matter, over terrestrial.

Lots of aquatic formulas/brands will get the job done, some simply get it done with higher quality ingredients, and less overall waste.

I feed Hikari Cichlid Bio-Gold+ as staple and mix in a few Northfin Koi Supreme per feeding.

I'll keep feeding the red parrot+ because he likes them and he's coloring up nicely. I'll add another pellet. I'll do some more research today but probably nls.

My point regarding feeding krill was this, if you are already feeding a food that is getting a portion of its protein/fat from krill, then there is no good reason to feed additional krill, such as krill pro, that was advised earlier on. Too much krill can become a negative, instead of a positive. That and once a FH begins reaching maturity protein should be reduced, not increased, same as a young dog that goes from high protein/fat puppy food, to a lower protein/fat maintenance diet. Red parrot + is a decent food, but I would certainly rotate another pellet such as NLS into the fishes diet. Good luck.

Got it. I will update my posts on facebook about recommending it. It's hard to know how much krill each variety has, I think NLS UltraRed has more than NLS cichlid, that's why is costs almost double?
