Best reaction to your monsters......?

every time my friends come over they're amazed at how fast my fish are growing...

I like to see peoples reactions when they see my DIY projects... "wtf, thats a swimming pool!"

I like my buddy, Justins, comment on my wet/dry filter... "wow, state of the art filtration!" lol... maybe to him... to me its just a wet/dry... wait till he sees an auto changing system!

4 of my friends have gone from "what the hell, you spend your money on this?" to calling me w/questions about fish thier looking at, to now looking for tanks/larger tanks.
Most of the time though people think I am b.s.ing about how big some of the fish I am keeping are till they see, and being only 20 the lfs employees half the time think I am lying about my tank sizes, bc I am guessing they don't think I would spend that much money on fish, nor care for them responsibly at this age.

my favorite one. my 2 year old nephew loves my fish he will stand there and just point and loves at my fish. my mom at the other hand. she is disgusted by my newest fish just a small 2 in. senegel bicher. adorable liitle thing.

i get the same thing even down to the age lol.

the best ever reaction i got was from my nephew
he is 4 years old and the first time he came home and saw the 180g inhabited by the RTCs and the TSNs and the jar all of the fish were above 10" at that time and just to amuse him i added a few rosies from the feeders tank and as soon as one of my RTCs caught a feeder he was all screaming in glee and jumping
that was a thing to watch
now he comes over to the house every week and asks me to feed the fish and it was kinda getting annoying, now i got a 30g for him and i got him a pair of jewel chiclids

At 4, he looks up to you. Look at it through his eyes, and enjoy it.

LMAO I actually had a very similar situation with my friends kids... now he's always asking when I'm feeding Buster(RTC) again cause he wants to bring his kids over to watch... I told him I only feed buster once every two weeks... and I just did it lastnight... call me back in two weeks LOL

First time I showed someone Buster they were like ... Awww he's so cute I was like yeah I know .. come back in a month and you'll get a better ... larger view of him... They didn't beleive how fast he grows... Now that I have all the smaller TSN's and Hybrids... they seem to be making excuses to come over to watch the growth...crazy how that works huh ;)

usually just get the WTF! when new people see Buster though ...

People first look at my 6" parrots and say, "big goldfish" then look at my ck and think its the uglyiest thing they've ever seen, my bala "looks like a minnow" and the only wow's i get is when its feeding time.... sigh.. I need new friends,,,
i've heard that about my parrot too lol. and, just so you know, balas are a type of minnow. thats why they look like them;)

Not an aquarium fish, but fish I purchased. When I started fishing, I used to buy sucker minnows(probably just young suckers at about 6 inches) to go pike fishing. While fishing on a bridge at a state park, a little girl kept bothering me asking the names of my fish. while she was distracting me I ended up getting a big bite and lost my bait but thankfully not my rod lol. It was such a long time ago, but I think I have also had people think that my sucker minnows were fish that I caught.

At home, people are always interested in my senegal bichir. They think he is huge even though he is only 7 inches. A guy working on our house thought it was a catfish because of its barbels. He didn't seem to listen when I tried telling him it wasn't a catfish. My little cousin liked to watch him eat and was startled when the fish made a dash. Everyone always ignores the opaline gourami in the same tank(like he is invisible).

Not many people have seen my 75, but they are always amazed by how big it is, if I mention it. Very few people percentage wise keep aquariums larger than 55.
