I totally agree with FSM and Nugpuffer, almost all danios and tetra types will be food (or simply killed) eventually. Grammodes will be especially likely to hunt them down, even if they can't consume them.

Cons have always been the best dithers for me. In fact, a grammodes will find their fry a good and constant food source, and their behavior will be more bold as a result. I've always had cons in with my grammodes.
 
I use congo tetras my self and have not had a single death but I tried giant danios and and they all got ate
 
I have boesemani rainbows in my 75G severum tank. I haven't lost one since I added them a year ago. On the other hand, I used praecox rainbow fish in a 46G tank with a festivum and 5 out of 8 were picked off.
 
I kept SD's before adding any cichlids, next thing you know, the SD's are getting bigger then all my cichlids and hogging all the food!!

Now using a few male convicts, but will go back to SD's when my main cichlids get a bit bigger.
