Bichir Feeding Photos/Videos?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I was feeding mine mostly ghost shrimp and rosey's, I think I will have to try the worm thing. They are free to anyone with a garden hose, so the price is right for me.

Mmmmm delhezi :(

I've dropped live cherry shrimp, frozen mysis shrimp, frozen bloodworms, carnivore pellets and wardleys shrimp pellets in at the same time. My albino SB always goes for the shrimp pellets and leaves the rest. And this is a tank with little ottos, cardinal tetra and pencilfish swimming around.

@ Dozer0011: your tank is awesome! Although I see some Cyanobacteria in your tank which indicates a bad water quality...:(

Thanks for the compliment Loubard:) ......I just watched your video & am lovin those Laps!

Have no idea of your water quality though....I find that I need test equipment to determine that.

Primarily what you are seeing is a product of leaving the lights on 24/7 for a month. I did this as an experiment just to see what would happen. At one time I had a gorgeous carpet of green hair algae growing on the wood. looked pretty cool wafting in the current.

Yes, I've got some DOC's in this tank but bottom line, fish are thriving & have been for 17 months now. Appreciate the concern though.;)

Did you notice some effect on the fish? Why did you actually want to leave the lights on? I can imagine that it is very stressfull for the fish.

Good to hear there thriving, I also love the natural look with some alge, but I found that it can take overhand (getting on plants) and that's not what I want. So I try to control it by keeping nitrate low and don't letting the lights on for to long.

Cheers
