Aggression is really depends on the polys personality.
I have no hiding spot and alot of polys but i still see some nipping that happen every now and then. Polys are really good on groups, they like to pile on each other.

Dont say you only want four polys, they can be addicting. Trust me, lolzIm only 'inteding' on 4, but its good to know ill have lots of room... just in case
Imo polys are not messy fish at all, i only do twice water change just to be safe, and i just want them to grow faster, lolz
Reduce the numbers and still feed the same amount... The fish would grow bigger and faster in no time.
Not messy i agree but they are small, ammonia output changes greatly with some size.
Dmd and i have a hunch that the polys put out less ammonia than cichlids because of their inactivity but at the emd of the day big fish put out big waste.
Allot depends on the person too some are ok with letting nitrates creep to 40 or 60 ppm i try to keep mine at 20 between wc's
