bichirs, how does your lfs says it?

They call them "Flösselhechte" in Germany ;)

it means something like "pike with many fins"

Its an really dumb name, becaue the don't have anything in common with pikes...
 
Our side here got a number of names for the different species.

"nine fin dragon"(senegal), kong long wang(congicus or endy), pan ma kong long wang(delhezhi), "zhong guo long"(reed fish aka ropefish). It is call "Snake fish" for those who see it for the first time. :D:D

sounds a bit hard to remember, but thats ok for bichirs:D
 
LFS- biker (like someone who rides a motorcycle)

Petsmart- Dinosaur bichir, not sure how they pronounce it, I've never heard them say it before.
