I agree with you 100%. 10,000 gallons is no joke and would destroy a house. But like yuki said I should probably hire some professionals.
I've seen that done before. My friends barn is 120ftx120ft and the walls are shipping containers. It's smart because the walls have amazing storage. But seems like a dreamer thread againI'm interested in the shipping container house. Mind telling us a little about it?
I know what ya mean Lep as far as the thread.....I have always liked those buildings that the Marines used as barracks years ago. They looked to be made of aluminum or some thin metal and were shaped like a cylinder cut in half lengthwise.I've seen that done before. Working with one of those to build a home does sound interesting.I'm aware that in some areas there are zoning issues for even having one on your property.Well the amount it cost to frame a house is about the same to do so with shipping containers. They are cool looking always wanted one.
Done by atm all acrylic will be.... EXPENSIVE LOL...You will have to forgive us, if some of us come across as a bit jaded. There have been too many threads on MFK like this one:

Do you have any idea how much even a small 2,000 gallon acrylic tank costs? I am thinking that you don't, especially if you aren't even keeping fish right now.... I do know that it would cost more than many new cars. A 10,000 gallon tank built on site would be prohibitive.
Why don't you get quotes from ATM and Fishtanksdirect for a 10,000 gallon tank. I'm very curious.
