Well I dont know what is going on....I am walking away from this topic..Maybe Bio Spira did work or maybe it did not..So, I am just walking away..The rep at Bio Spira told me if I had Nitrates, then the tank is almost completing its cycle...So, I did not mean to say that Bio Spira does not work or maybe, from my past experience with Bio Spira I always got ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 12.5 within a week or two..
Also, my tank might have finished cycling as what it says in this link, since I use Amquel as a water conditioner:
"Using Amquel during the cycling phase has one significant drawback, however. Amquel (and similar products) may cause ammonia test kits to give false readings, making it difficult to determine exactly when cycling has completed."
Why use any of those bottled bacteria products. All they are is expensive bacterial cyst emulsions. You can get the same bacteria for about $1.50 a kg in the form of composted cow/sheep manure. Just put a teaspoon full in your cannister, hob or sump and your on your way. The rest can go into your garden.
