I picked up 3 bags with those shards in them as well. The ones you can easily see might not be that sharp, but after 5 or 6 times of getting very fine slivers of that stuff in my fingers, I pulled it out of my tanks.
Really because some users have experienced this....?
If you find the right stuff that is tested and documented, then I can see it, but trying new stuff out may risk your fish.... It's bad *** substrate, just make sure its safe, that's all. Don't have to be rude about it, I surely wasn't.....

No users have experienced "instant death" from this sand. I was not being rude, I was saying there's no need to be so dramatic about it.

Here is a pic from when i was cleaning some fine black diamond before putting it in my 55. You could see some brown clear pieces but no tubes. Had my hand in the bucket for hours cleaning no cuts. My corys were sifting threw it with in 5 mins of being put in the tank and still doView attachment 835114
