Black EBJD? Or a Hybrid?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Tbr0ther and i went back to our lfs and they had a few more ebjd that looked exactly like ours. Wherever there getting them from they all look the same.

Hopefully they all turn out like CHClause's Fish. I'm thinking about getting maybe one or two more. I'm hoping to get a male and female.

Yeah, I'm probably going to wait a week or two before buying until all the sick ones die off. The one I've been showing was in the tank for at least a month.

ask them to feed them in front of you, if they are aggressive eaters go for it.

iv had a ebjd live for a few weeks after it got sick and stopped eating. turned the nicest shade of blue i have ever seen, then it died.

He looks like my black jack dempseys.

you have a black jack dempsey?, That is a good idea asking them to feed the fish. Right now mine takes food from fish four times its size, so I'm not to worried. He is getting more and more blue everyday (but he is staying black), I will post another picture soon.

i have a dark phase normal jd (they exist)

you might have a JD that is darker than normal, but there is no such species as a "dark phase normal" JD...SAME goes for glenbos comment about "Black" JDs...no such thing.

OP, Thats a good looking EBJD. If its not sick, I bet it will look great when its bigger.

if your EBJD is black it could mean two things he sick or he is going through the ugly stage.

This is what mine look like when he was 3 1/2"
his old ugly stage.
