Red Devil that's a gorgeous fish!

I love these guys. Finally got one of my own along with a Senegal bichir, both about 3-4" and they seem to get along just fine. Half the time I get up in the morning to find them both hanging out in the same cave. :D

They're in with a peacock eel (slightly bigger), three platinum gouramis (1 m, 2 f who, thank goodness, settled down after a 'time out' and now leave everyone but each other alone) and 10 neon tetras. One of my neons has disappeared, though... not sure who to blame. Guess that's what I get for putting predators in an all-you-can-eat neon buffet... Snack food!

Yeah they do make noise its weird. I have one in my room and he clicks his teeth at night. Even more if I leave some dried mealworms at the top for him.
 
I've always wanted a BGK but hadn't been able to get one due to smaller tanks. Now I have a bigger/better tank and I want one badly. I've done tons of research but one question remains:

Would ONE BGK be compatible in a tank with a gibbiceps pleco, gold severums, and two electric blue jack dempseys? I'll be upgrading the 55g in a short while.... they're all small-ish right now. The gibbiceps is 10", ebjds are 2", sevs are around 5". Would they all be safe (to include the BGK). :confused:

well you guys are gonna thuink im crazy, but i currently have 2 bgks in the same tank along with 2 brown knives and 2 glass knives....when i first got the second one, they hated eachother, but now they actually sleep on the same side of the tank, often within a few inches of one another...they are awesome fish, but i wouldnt recoment putting them with any of the bigger bichirs, or clown knives, or aros... they seem to do well with my angels ,congos ,discuses,ropefish and even my eels... haha i even have a couple newts in there with them

Just wonder how big your tank is? I am looking to have 3 BGK's in a tank also!
 
Hi guys, i gotta question:

How long would a BGK be able to last in a 50gallon?

i want to get one, but i dont want to wait until in 2 1/4 years to get my 120g.

I have a 4 inch BGK and it has some odd behavior such as laying down on it's side from time to time and when i get close to the tank it will pop up and swim around again, does anyone know if this is normal? my water is fine, I've tested it many times so I hope this is just a normal habit...
