Black Ghost Knifefish tank mates

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh dang. Yeah they are more expensive than I thought!

Those are cool, but I figured out what my wife was talking about. The Acarichthys Heckelii, Threadfin Cichlid.

Are Green Phantom's a poop machine's like common plecos?

This is my boy Davy, he cleans the tank up real well and adds his own additional flare. I use sand substrate (purewhite silica sand) he poops a moderate amount that I can notice was bad when he was first introduced to the tank but has slowed down. However i also set up a dip in the sand and put drift wood over it to set up a deadspot in my tank that everything gathers in for extra easy cleaning and a better first apperance. Should be fine as long as you keep up with your regular water changes. I like him in planted tank most, eats competition, and turns it into neutriants for other plants.

Gorgeous pleco. Does he stay hidden often? I want one but don't want to put him in my tank and never see him again.

He does preffer the underside of the driftwood I have placed in the tank which does make seeing him somewhat difficult but he does come out to clean my air lines which is nice of him. However, for mine it just depends on which set of lights I have on. I have 2 24in led strip I keep on for 14hrs 10am-12am. During this time he hides, during the night I switch to the 2 single blue led and he becomes very active during these hours. I also had to deal with a very shy fire eel so maybe I just have patience....

Just came back from a LFS with a Boulengerella lateristriga (striped pike-characin), a Geophagus Daemon, a Longfinned Bristlenose pleco, and 3 more Clown Loaches!

I think that will fill out the tank nicely. We still have room for a few more fishes down the road if we want too :D
