Thanks. Interesting. You keep catfish I've never hadNot s. intermedius. These are kryptopterus cheveyi from Jeff rapps. They get about 12inches and eating pellets and tilapia.
No prob. A little concerned but the Trachy has left much of the stock alone. I believe it did try to go after a few of the markiana nigripinnis. Those characins are from Jeff too. That’s cause I went on vacation and didn’t feed. Since then no probs. I do go out of the way to feed it separately and not take any chances.Thanks. Interesting. You keep catfish I've never had
Sorry. I reread my last post and it was muddled. The "it" in the last question is the subject matter, the trachy trachy. Are you concerned that the trachy might swallow pretty much anyone at any time in the tank? My quartet has been placid in that department but I remember Kolt's observations of sudden predatory behavior.
I noticed similar behavior aside from it snapping at anything. Only small thing with it is the jag, and the jag is all up in the trachy's grill every nightOne thing i did notice is when hungry when i didn’t feed. This particular trachy is swimming very slowly all levels of tank. When the markiana swim by then a snap of its mouth can be heard.
Not really a sit and wait kind of catfish. Not really a bottom swimming and feeding cat. Happens with the lights out. Try to record but a little bit of light makes it run and hide.
Same with mine. My jag and false jag are room mates with the trachy.I noticed similar behavior aside from it snapping at anything. Only small thing with it is the jag, and the jag is all up in the trachy's grill every night
