after doing research in this. it says that the cattappa leaves (indian almond leaves) changes the pH levels in the tank. how much of a pH drop will i see if i use the leaves, because i dont want to drop the pH too quickly and cause my fish to get sick and die. how would i go about doing this without dropping the pH so quickly.

Add a few a day until you reach your max dosage.. and they from there on you can use the max dosage everytime you swap them.

just an update, ordered 500 leaves on ebay last night, should be here soon :)

I have no need for any chemicals since nyc water is superb. we don't have chlorine, chloramines, or metals in our water. If you are going to use any chemicals the only one I recommend is Prime..
.

Was that statement scarcasm? "we don't have chlorine, chloramines, or metals in our water" Are you running an RO unit?

NYC tap :

Nitrates-10MCL plus a lot of chemicals
