Building a 9'x25' pond

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just sat and read this entire thread. You are the man. I've been trying to get motivated to dig a pond, and I think I just got my push. :headbang2 That is seriously the best start to finish (almost) thread I've read on here. Especially out of project threads. Bravo. Can't wait to see it finished.

Made the stairs over the past two days. Next up will be the waterfall at the bar.

After seeing the way its progressed I convinced Kate to let me build a second above ground pond/stream/bench on the deck along the fence. I am still planning it, but thinking of something about 10" wide, 15" deep and 15' long. It will be for plants and small fish with the edge will serving as a bench. Water will pump up from the filters with a 3rd pump and flow through the bog pond to a spillway back into the main pond.

Made a prefilter in the settling chamber. It is the bottom of a 55 drum with 10 24" floor scrubbing pads. The water comes in the bottom, swirls around letting heavy stuff settle, and down through the floor pads to the next barrel. It should add some bio area and mechanical.

Sand da floor....

The night pic are capital A.w.e.s.o.me.

Are the sections for filter access heavy? I work for a company that manufactures treated wood, and it (green tretaed)can get pretty heavy w/those longer lenghts.

:jaw: Yeah, night pic is awesome... It'll be really cool! Just can't wait when there will be pictures with some fishes :headbang2
Keep up the good work!
