Be careful as chalceus can bully ur hujeta gar. But mine are a little nippy. But always stay toward the top.

I havnt seen my gar I think my bichir got him which is the last thing I thought would happen, I even put some feeder mosquito fish in there that were way smaller

If it's a surface fish you want the chalceus is certainly that. Mine stays in the top 5" of water, always. I throw prawns and live worms to mine and he is lightning quick getting them, one of the fastest fish i've seen, and beautiful too with his big silver scales, yellow pelvic fins and that bright red caudal fin, wow.

Mine hangs top half, very cool fish but hogs food and at 5" is starting to get too big for the 70 gallon so I'm selling him off to a person with a bigger tank. They need a lot of space for when they dash
