Don't know if you meant me,but dude, I certainly do not live in Brooklyn. And Darius,no hunting at all would possibly disturb the relation between predators..
Where I live, boar are severely hunted, and there is still a huge over-population of them. They destroy crop fields, vineyards and young trees. They have also started coming into towns, citys and villages and destroying gardens/attacking people. Hunting them is essential here.

No, bottom lives in broooklyn.

Hurray you join in to spout nonsence!!! Huzzah!! Eatting any meat under cooked can cause issues.

And yes there is studys done on animal populations all the time.

Cooking does not guarantee anything. Virus are very resiliant and so are prions. Nothing guarantees that the core temperature in the center of the meat gets high enough to cause denaturisation. Or how do you think BSE was spread? Do you think anyone ate raw bovine meat? The chance of getting such sickness is much higher by carnivorous animals. Eating unched and uncontrolled meat in general is dangerous.

If it is true that eating carnivourous animals is dangerous with regards to disease so be it. If someone chooses to eat carnivore and they do get sick why woory about it? it is their promblem. Don't understand how people on this site try to control everyones thinking.

Uncontrolled animals,or animals from the wild, certainly aren't more of a health risk, since noone treats them with antibiotics when they're not sick,or keeps thousands of them in one shed.

I feels so offended by Bottomfeeder's comment about labeled us rednecks because obsivously this is not true. Without any management on predators and big game, there will be ugly effects on the ecosystem as well as get in conflicts with the humans. Overpopulation of predators are often bad news for us as it is not uncommon for them get in trouble or had to be put down after attacked someone.

There are more cases of people get sick from eating undercooked meat FROM the domestic animals than get sick from eating a wild carnivorous mammal meat. You have higher chances to get sick from eating an undercooked beef burger or pork than eating bear steak or cougar sausage.

There are always studies on the big game populations, especially the big apex predators so if the big predators were decreasing, they won't declared open season for the big predators as well as other big game and fish too.

I´m against hunting and would not support it in any way.
Hunting is very important tool to manage the wildlife.

Overpopulated coyotes can actually put a dent on whitetail deer populations easily as well as other natural prey items.

Feral hogs are hard to control and they can upset whole ecosystem and also ruined agriculture areas.

Overpopulations of whitetail deers can overgrazing/browsing and often leads to the vehicle collisions. They can also spread deadly diseases, especially CWD and tubiculous.

I can keeps going on with few examples of why the hunting is a must.

I'm not seeing a problem with him hunting and killing a cougar as long as it was legal and the meat was eaten. He followed the laws of that state, so there's no reason he should resign.

I will say that I don't agree with hunting certain predators in some cases, but that's only when they're in low numbers and are unable to control the population of their prey, e.g. the wolves in Yellowstone and similar cases. We do need to thin out the human herd a bit, though, so we need to give the predators a fair chance. :D

Just to clarify, I am a hunter, and I do make use of as much of the kill as possible. I also will choose to take an injured or sick animal over a healthy one in order to end its suffering (and to feed the vultures). My opinion is that responsible hunting is important in today's society in order to compensate for the lack of native predators and overpopulation of prey animals due to reduced predation & increased food availability.

Mn, bottom wasnt calling all hunters rednecks(though he likly thinks it), just calling me one, jokingly. And its best to ignore dar. Us working class folk are below him (his words).
