CA "rocky shores" community update log

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How are they with the rest of the tank
The female is aggressive to the other cichlids, flaring at them if they are in her little cave/rock area. The male is not acting any differently, he chases the others around a bit but only in his normal dominance routine. Haven't seen him defending the rock at all, actually saw him chase the female away yesterday. Still hoping they are a true pair, not convinced the male knows what he is doing

My guess is it's not long before he figures it out. Keep an eye out after they lay eggs. That's when things get hectic.

Thanks, going to have a 20gallon at the ready for the other panamensis if this happens. I don't want the pair to kill the other two. I am now thinking the others are another M and F based on coloration, who knows maybe I will get 2 pairs.

Was at my LFS this week to return the red pleco (mis-ID'ed, was actually a chocolate pleco)
And they had Belonesox Belizanus in stock. I had some credit from the pleco and couldn't resist, so I bought 4 of them. They are doing well so far, eating freezedried krill.

Thanks dan, I have wanted them for quite a while as well. Oddball CA dithers can be hard to come by, and these were too cool to pass up
