MT and BJJ, Judo. Nothing else matters.

I disagree with this. Every art has something to offer. Guys like GSP and Shogun train with Freddy Roach, not just to improve their punching, but also footwork and head movement. How about the Karate of Liddel and Machida? A lot of people say Taekwondo is useless, but Pettis uses it well against MT fighters. Judo and BJJ are great, but how about the wrestling of Velasquez, Barnett, GSP and Jones.
As far as grappling goes I can't say much since I have no experience outside of High School wrestling, but I've taken a number of striking arts and Kickboxed for years. In my experience some arts are better than others, but everything has something useful and they definitely matter when your fighting a style that you've never seen before.
Just my opinion.

. I have a strong suspicion that if a true master were to enter these fights someone would die. Some of the martial arts are only meant for combat. I'm not buying into these guys having a chance against a shaolin monk or muay borat or silat master.

I tend to agree with this, and this is one topic i often discuss with my boys.

They one day showed me a vid on youtube where a Japanes master was absolutely ridiculed by a mma guy...it was sad, actually...

Well I look at it like this according to philosophical nature of some of the arts like tai chi for example. Most of those skilled enough are not interested. I don't even think the grappling would be an issue if the practitioners were truly masters. Master Ip Man would have wiped the floor with anyone in any MMA league anywhere ever that I've heard of. Especially since mma is not true full contact and most martial arts have lots of moves that would be illegal.

I don't believe the hype of legends.....all of them have too much fabrication

The one legend I can say I believe has the capability to kill some one was Bruce Lee. Even thou he didn't fight in mma or how we are talking but just the fact that his 1" punch can send you flying back and there is other video of him breaking heavy punching bags (100lbs+) down to just leather and a pill of stuffings.

Bruce Lee use to street fight that's part of the reason for the development of Jeet Kune Do. But again I say Master Ip Man (Bruce Lee's first Sifu). Slightly off topic has anyone seen the tv show where 2 guys go all over the world training in different arts I can't remember the name of the show. That and the show "fight science."

That's true. I always wanted to study jeet kune do under Bruce.

I remember the show but don't know the name either. I do remember the episode they study with shaolin munks.
