Calling All You Severum, Uaru & Chocolate Fans ............

 • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
peter, do you still have any severums? im starting to like atabapos more and more. im contemplating having the dat exit stage left and doing just a 180g with some more dats :D

I got my Atabapo from Sencion88 and she's one of the largest sevs in my tank. Her shape is what really makes her beautiful to me. I'd love to find a male but I'm afraid he'd pale in comparison to her. She's the most unique severum I've ever owned.

I think you should can the dat and go for it. :D

i think i can convince the wife. her favorite fish of mine are my severums :D JD, jgentry, has 1" atabapo fry for sale, very tempting...

Does anyone know how to tell the difference between H. coryphaenoides and H. temporalis ? I'd just like to know what region my Chocolate is from, and I'm having trouble finding info on differentiating the two.

Someone in the thread mentioned Chocolate's being shy, I've yet to experience that with mine. He's always out of the rocks and in the open when I'm around. He dances in front of the glass when I come close to the tank, and basically begs for food. Very personable fish in my opinion. Maybe the same cannot be said for a chocolate of another sex, but mine is outgoing.

yours is a temporalis. coryphaenoides has a completely different body shape. temporalis are pretty chunky compared the coryphaenoides.

my temporalis was a bully. always chased the smaller fish in the tank. he was a huge pig, his mouth would be exploding with food and still trying to eat more.

Those Uaru are beautiful. What is the secret to keeping them healthy?

Uaru A. are a really under-rated SA cichlid IMO, there is no secret to keeping them. just good ole fashion regular WC's, the softer & more acidic the better along with higher temps and good veggie diet. ;) They are just a fish to research a little before buying, they get big.

Which "other" Uaru would that be? The fernandezyepezi? I don't have those anymore but I could post pictures of them as juvies.

I love the blue on your rotkeils. When rotkeils first became popular I didn't like the look of them... now after owning some they've grown on me, and yours are probably one of the nicest pair I've seen.

Yeah I'm a sucker for your old fernandezyepezi pics. The OP technically didn't say wich Uaru right lol? Thanks for the compliment. :D I have a thing for rotkeils too, Atabapo being my second choice. Your female is soo pretty.

There are no secrets hahaha. With my Uaru sp. Orange I just feed them pellets and make sure my PH is at 6.0. I will be feeding my fish frozen foods soon though.

That's what I like about her as well but she was to aggressive for my tank

Well I'm gonna see if I can get my bro's cam so I can take better quality pic's
