Hello everyone! I just moved my 9 inch silver arowana from my 125g to my 210g (not its final tank) which has a circulation pump at the surface for better oxygen exchange. The flow pushes the arowana around a lot but when I turn off the pump, the arowana and other fish start breathing hard being that the temp of the tank is at 82°F from outdoor heat. The aro struggles to swim in the current, even though there are areas in the tank with weaker flow. Is this bad for the aro? I know when it gets bigger it should be able to handle it better, but should I leave it off while its still young or will this help it to become a better swimmer?

The Aro looks like it is fine with it. Also like you stated it will grow quickly and that won't phase the Aro. Personally wouldn't shut it off .

I kept aros for years with my African tigerfish; and I kept my ATF in crashing whitewater. The aros had a bit of trouble adapting to the flow at first, but then again so did every other fish I'd add. In time, they'd get used to it and be fine.

As others said, the aro is fine. I have dual locline returns at the surface too. I recently turned my pump up and tilted the return up just a hair. Still a lot of agitation from end to end but some water flows above surface to lessen the effect.
