Can oscars and black ghost co-exist ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i would have researched the fish beforehand... made especially easy with the internet which you DO have access to, obviously. I'm getting an oscar for my 100 gallon (just one). And arent koi coldwater fish, as in they dont like tropical temperatures?

Dude

You are not getting any sympathy from us, and your excuses are not appealing to us. You should have found out how big they get before getting even just one. And, most importantly,

YOU ARE NOT EVEN TALKING ABOUT RESOLVING THIS

You are talking about "seeing how it goes" -- That is very, very immature, ignorant, on your part. Maybe it is true that you just found out yesterday, but what you are saying, is that you are keeping the tank as-is.

Do the right thing, and IMMEDIATELY remove ALL the oscars and koi. Maybe if they are tiny keep one, but ONLY IF, and ONLY IF, you have a BIG tank ready within a few months.

Otherwise, GET RID OF THEM ALL NOW. Why make the fish suffer by having the problems "in the future" that you speak of.
No offense, truly, but I have heard quite a few Indians express a clear disregard for animals and their needs. If you are any different, then you will follow our advice IMMEDIATELY.

Sorry for venting, but your posts speak for themselves. That, in my opinion, is not welcome. We, as fishkeepers, accept that singular responsibility for their well-being and health, which you clearly aren't doing.
i admit my disregard ! i m following ur advice right away !!

Well, I apologize for coming across so strongly, but sometimes that is needed.
Now that you want to follow our advice, I'm here to help as much as possible!
I am sure you love your fish - Do you have the ability to get a bigger tank??
If not, start fresh, and we'll help you pick out awesome fish that will fit!

i gave the oscars to the fish vendor who has a really big tank ... and i would like to take a break for a while .. then i shall start afresh .. actually i need to collect a hell lot of money u knw .. planning for a big 6ft tank !!

thanx for ur advice !! :)

no i m not lookign for one now .. got my oscars transfered to bigger tanks !! yeah more than 55 gallons each! now i just have kois and silver dollars ..

give all your fish to a vendor that will take care of them, then buy some guppies or tetras, stick with that until you can save money and actually know what your doing, just because you have good equipment doesn't mean you know what your doing and your fish will live.

No matter the tank size although you are going to need to get a larger one really soon. Its good to keep a black ghost knife in a pcv tube. Because of their limited sight and nocturnal behavior they like to be in pipes and under large rocks. And just so you know black ghost knife fish can get up to 36inches. Thats 3 feet of fish! The fish you chose are some good fish but not for starters. Good Luck with that doe.
