Canister Debate: Which Do You Use?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm using two 350 mag very modified to run one of my tanks up to 6 inches low and filled with biomedia. 1 330 HOB and two XP3's filled with eheim substrat, on my 150gal.

Currently cycling a 30 gallon with a eheim 2213 and a eheim 2217. I have used the 2213 before and nothing bad to say about it (besides from those metal clips).

Do you guys use any biological media in your cannisters?

i used to use ehiem classic but when i use it in arowana tank , all other fish die except arowana

i have the ehiem ecco for a 60 gal on a 55 gal with 20 white clouds
6-2.5 in corries
3-3 in clown loaches
and a 8 in placo and the water is crystal clear

0 debrise in the water... its a good filter :headbang2

I guess everyone that uses fluval is using the 404... Well I use the FX5. It was 250$ and I have never had a problem with the water flow. I think the biggest change to water quality comes from what media I use in it. Seachem Purigen is amazing stuff Like my water is always crystal clear and ammonia and nitr(ates/ites) never make a noticable bleep.

im gona say xp3, but that is the only canister i have had. i have looked at my cousins magnum 350 but i like the xp3 better

for my 120 I have an xp4 and an xp2, for my 75 I have an xp3. No complaints really except for the o-ring breaking on both the xp2 and 3 at almost exactly the 1 year mark... Other than that they work great, plus I got the xp4 for free from fish store so I can't complain :D
