Most BP's are between 4-5 feet in length, however some females will get to 6'. Regardless...they don't need a huge tank. As others have mentioned, they are a fairly lazy species and don't do a whole lot of climbing. They are generally very docile and easy to handle.
Not trying to be negative...but a lot of the questions you are asking can be found much quicker by looking up care sheets for the species, or even Wikipedia if you can't find a care sheet.
Would any snakes (available to me..) be able to live HAPPILY in a 12'' x 12'' x 12'' viv? Or any other small (ish) size of a viv? I guess...I could probally get a 4ft if I saved up for ages...
