Choosing a snake?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say a King or milk snake as well. My milk snake doesn't bite and transitioned to thawed mice very easy. You have a lot of color morphs to chose from as well.

A 12" cube is awfully small for any of the snakes you listed. Could you manage a 20 gallon long? That would be fine for a hognose, or maybe a rosy boa.

Its just I know I can get a few of the smaller Exo Terra vivs and 12'' x 12'' x 12'' is the only one I remeber..lol

I know there is one..That most shops sell..Its pretty tall I forget the dimensions tho

Thanks guys :) what would the minimum size for a milksnake be?
that's the wrong attitude to ave it should be what tank size would make my milksnake more comfortable and i'd say a 20l would do just fine but a 40breeder would be ideal

The larger ExoTerras are OK for climbing snakes like ratsnakes and some boas and pythons, but standard fishtanks are better for most snakes (and way cheaper too). The tank's footprint is more important than its height for non-arboreal snakes, which includes hognoses, milksnakes, ball/royal pythons, and most of the other snakes you listed.

Small ExoTerras are great for small climbing frogs, lizards, or inverts, but not much good for snakes.

If fishtanks are better then a 4 ft viv would be really likely. One of the petshops has them for like..£40 and then the hood is £30 :) So pretty cheap :D

just get a rub u can get 3x2x 8" for £4 then u just need ur heat mat and thermostat which im sure uv already got.

why musn't (lol) it be a corn snake? theyre awesome :D but I guess everybody has their different likes and dislikes :)
