Choosing a snake?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive kept corns before...They are amazing :D I wouldnt mine keeping them again but I would rather keep something a little different :D

Ok...They arent...A good idea now...Even if I did have a big enough viv..No...lol

I really like royal pythons :)

I currently have 2 ball pythons(or royal pythons, as I think they are called elsewhere) they are very nice and calm, I keep them in rubbermaid tubs staked on top of each other. If you cant find a tank big enough for the snake u want consider a tub, they r very cheap and can be easily clean lol. I also have a kingsnake I just got set up in a 40 gallon breeder tank, and he is very active. Thats another thing to consider, do u want a snake u can just throw around ur neck and he's good, like a ball, or do u want a active snake?

I could love one that I can watch during the day (being active) but handle it as I want to aswell :D I think a royal (ball) python seems to be an awsome snake to keep :D

If you want something that is active during the day...do not get a ball. They are a nocturnal species and will spend their days in a hidebox. They really aren't much of a "display" species....but they do have other great qualities. Check out www.ball-pythons.net for more info.....

I'm telling you if you DO want something small look into antaresia species. Like Children's python, Spotted python, Stimpson's python, or Anthill python. The Anthills are very expensive because they are the smallest known python species, Stimpson's are hard to find, but Children's and Spotteds are easy to find, inexpensive, stay small, and are very easy to keep. Spotted's are the biggest I believe but stay around 4' but are much smaller bodied than the Ball pythons and Children's are like 3' to 3.5' max and have the looks of a much larger meaner python LOL.
