Christmas Gift Ideas for the Girlfriend / Wife?

5 pounds isn't big for a lobster. My grandfather used to catch 10+ pounders that I would classify as 'tough'. However, one year he caught a 34 pounder. It was cut into sections and pressure-steamed to perfection. One of the best I've enjoyed.

This was back in 1967. My grandfather decorated the claw into a pirates head (The red bandana and straw hair are long gone) to amuse the grand-kids. The bottom 3 1/2"-4" was sawed off to be able to mount the pirate head onto a plaque. Since I helped my grandfather pull the traps in, the big claw was all mine. It took me 3 days (and lots of butter & garlic) to finish eating it.

I remember all the adults spending the day chopping and grinding and combining ingredients for making 150 lobster eggrolls from the leg meat and the claw appendages (minus the pincers). The tail fed all 6 adults and the other grandkids.

Hello; The wife has likely been dropping clues for a while. Lingering at store window displays or perhaps leaving a magazine open at a page or some such. I read thru the posts, did anyone mention a good watch? Does the wife have a hobby or interest unique to her and not shared with you?

For the girlfriend some sort of jewelery perhaps?

Might be best to get the presents at different places and not use a credit card.

Also might be cautious if you get any sort of electronic device with a built in tracking capacity from either one?

Good luck
