C'mon, there must be SOMETHING that can live with a Jardini

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Try putting the jardini as the last fish in the tank once the rest of the fish of your choice established their teritorry.

I never had a jardini pass 6", but I have made 3 black aros and a leichardti works. Lei went in last, after all fish were fed. I also left the light on for longer period per days for a week.
The black aros are 14-17" and the lei is about 12-13"

i currently have a 12" common pleco, (6)2 1/2" bronze cory's, (6) 1" cory sterbai's, and (4) 3" geo's in the same tank as my 16" jar and no trouble. but i also had a 9" jardini with about 8 dats ranging from 3" to 8" and i had to get the jar out of the tank after witnessing my jar trying to take a bite out of my 8" dats mouth. the same 8" jar i tried to put it in a tank with my 15" silver and the silver would just beat up on the jar. weird its just like everyone says you just have to try different fish out.

This Jardini is going to be M-E-A-N mean. He's only 5" and I had to take him out of the 156g tank because he's attacking all my juvie Festae. I gave him his own 29 gallon for right now. He's still trying to attack the fish in the next tank thru the glass. :screwy:

When Jars get big do they bite their owners?

One of my friends has one with 2 parrots, a FH, couple dats, softshell turtle, couple small black catfish, and the Jardini probably about 18-20 inches? I know I'm forgetting a couple of fish too. He's had problems in the past, but those current fish have been in there for quite a while now.

Where out of that statement did you get the idea I feed live fish? I stated earlier he's eating Hikari Food Sticks broken in half pieces. None of my fish get live feeders ever. Though yesterday I treated him to some market prawns cut up in small chunks and he devoured them. Thanks for trying to help though....it's always appreciated, really.

Ill put my money on PACU. They are indestructble if u ask me. Only way to kill them is to cock it.. And since ive lost 2 jars in my pacu tank im pretty sure pacus will be ok with jars aslong as the pacu doesnt kill the jar.. Best thing with pacu is the water is always perfect. No nitrit, no alge no fish turds on gravel.. U cant find a fish thats esyer to keep then pacu, besides from the size then hehe.

Sounds like Pacu would be the perfect tankmate but I don't think my tank is big enough to handle Pacu.....what do you think?
