it's amazing how exodons get overlooked but they're really a great solution to those who want piranhas but don't have a large enough tank.

They're everything people THINK piranhas are
Yeah piranhas are hardly what people think of them to be.

To the OP: I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet but piranhas aren't the ruthless killers people make them out to be. They are scavengers and are very skittish fish. Not to be a reason not to get them though. If you place them in a high-traffic area they will get used to humans and warm up to you especially if you are the one feeding them.;)

well im gunna see how this works. im not buying a brand new tank. im getting a 29 basically for free. i found the ad off craigslist. im trading a portable dvd player and a first gen 2gb nano for it. the tank comes with everything. stand included. so im sure they dont want their tank, and i dont want those 2 electronics. im getting a 75 gal for a motoro pup so no pianhas there. i have a 35 with just a pleco for now but i plan on getting 2 ghost knife in there. so piranhas in 29 gal for now. who knows maybe another ad might come up for a bigger tank. how should i care for these bastards? lol. i have a basic idea. lower ph. temp 78-82. driftwood. i have ick medicine for the feeders. but i hope the lfs has them on something else. $5.99 per rbp. thats a good deal.

I would just keep one RBP man, or like ballinouttacontrol said exodons are great and you could keep alot of them. See if your LFS can order them.

Well they grow about 1" a month maybe slightly less and they WILL out grow the tank. Sure get the fish now and put them in the 29 at 1" but make sure to spend a good amount of time scouring craigslist for their new home because before you know it they will be cramped in there. I would go for something around 1$ per gallon or so so maybe 75$ for the tank $100 is not too far off either.

yeah, ill have plenty of time to do that. most people just want to get rid of their tanks. buy them new, have no idea what to do, stop fish keeping, then they sell them for under $100 when they paid like $400. i cant stand the craigslister who ask like $250 for like a 40 gal. its soo dumb.

Yeah I find a lot of them(Small tanks for hundreds of dollars) on there. Just a tip of mine is to make sure to always ask for dimensions. You don't want to drive to pick up a 75 gallon tank and find out it's a 29 gal.:nilly: But on the other hand if it is larger than they thought it could be your lucky day.:naughty:

yeah well im buying the 75 off my friend which has been keeping for like 10 years. but yeah i saw a 55 gal (clearly) and the person said it was a 30-35. she wanted $40. it came with a stand, canopy, filter, everything. its not hard to get lucky with those kinds of people.

Good to hear that! If you have more questions post them up and I'll be happy to answer them along with a lot of other MFK'ers I'm sure.
