More and more of the sb Green Texas are turning out to be faders. So much so that I decided to delete one of my auctions on AB. I just can't bring myself to sell so many of what is turning out to be a lovely batch of faders until I grow them out and see what they look like. So far most of them still have flowerlines and pearls showing through the red/orange but I'm not so sure they're done peeling yet. Almost all have a muddy bronze color overlay covering the parts that haven't turned orange...the same muddy bronze their orange parts used to be. It's weird though, I'm so used to seeing them turn very dark brown if not black and then it "peels" off in splashs and streaks. These guys seem to get this lighter muddy bronze and then the orange and their other markings (pearls, flowers) seem to fade fairly uniformly all over the body. They start with an orange blush to the belly and it gradually intensifies and moves upward toward the spine, the face gets nicely orange very early in this stage. I'm fairly certain not one of them is done peeling yet. Despite my not wanting to keep/breed red texas I can't help being uber excited! If any of the males turn out to be fertile I'll defintely keep a pair.
