off topic from the current conversation, but can a male/female pair of sb flowerhorn or sb flowerhorn with a BP live in a 29 gallon tank? my mom wants to change the guppy tank to a tank with a "big" cichlid (even though i tell her i cant keep the oscar she wants), so i figured; why not a mating pair of SB flowerhorn or parrot & FH?

Six of the nine remaining (male green texas killed one, and killed my senegal bichir:irked:) texas parrots seem to be female. One of the girls ships out Monday, leaving me five girls, two males and one unconfirmed female. There are more than a few with some real promise, one in particular rivals the Kirrin I used to have at her most pearly/colorful...but this fish is still less than 3", she's gonna be a stunner when her pearls/color fully bloom. :headbang2

p.s. I did say I could sense a trend in their gender, seems my hunch was correct.

A 29 is sorta small for that, I'd recommend a 55 or larger for such a pair.

This is so what I had in mind with the flower X pink con thing, with the right percent of con in them a pair would be perfect for that size tank.

In light of this discussion and recent events (the texas trying to spawn) I made a few more changes. Divider back in 40 breeder with the texas on one side and Titus and the con on the other. Not ideal but both pairs get along well and they can direct any excess aggression at the opposite pair through the glass rather than on each other. Total volume of that system is actually 70 gallons, 40 display and 29 sump.
