Tail looks cut off and not a defect and those stripes are not natural either they are tattoos which will fade with time. Good save !

yeah...considering her stripes fade in and out..like when i put her in the new tank she looked like this...at first a little stressed

and this..the same day after settling in a bit

so....not tattooed.....but still waiting on an answer for when ill see wiggelrs they laid them on the 7th

2-3 days usually in my experience but depends on temperature as well. Should hatch anytime soon. Maybe tomorrow.

Yep. I didn't think it's tattooed after seeing the pic of it with fading stripes.

They're easy to breed and raise so you have a good start. They tend to be very good parents that they could corner the rest of the fish just to herd their fry around the tank.

yeah so i have read^_^ they are in a 20 gallon tank of there own and the fry are for feeders...after rescuing her i decided if i was going to keep her...if she was healthy enough...witch she is.... i would find her a male and try it out......

well she had chased off the male if he comes below her log she comes out and chases him off..lol and to think some people said i should just euthanize her ..so she would not struggle to swim.....sounded crazy to me seeing how she has no problem what so ever getting around...or beating up her male who is slightly larger than her.

The tail may be a defect or may be cut off. Doesn't really matter. But she is not tattooed. That is just what convicts look like when they are taken care of well.

I have wigglers!!!!!!! over 100 from what i can see..she moved them as soon as they hatched..spent all day running back and forth..she has nestled them in to a bowel shape in the log with anubia leaves hanging over it. she is a very good mom so far!

Dad has dug pits all around the tank..and my pennywort is now a floating plant..grr lol anyway, he seems like he wants to help..swims over and fans at the wigglers until she notices him and gets chased away..he will attack the glass if i get near as will she.

soo much fun to watch..cant wait till they are free swimming.
