Sorry to hear man. Just lost my last one a few weeks ago.
It's truly a puzzle exactly what it takes to keep these things alive..... There's been hundreds if not thousands sold and how many have broke the 20" mark?
Mine seemed to hate WCs. Maybe I was doing too large of ones, but if any of them looked like they were developing the "Characin stuppor" a big ol WC would do them in. I just assumed my PH is just too high OR smelt is just a poor diet.
I'm at 11 in the freezer and am even more clueless now then when the 1st one died. I've made numerous threads and the only conclusion I can draw is either no one knows how to keep these things properly or those that do aren't willing to share thier secret. I'm about to close the book on keeping Armatus in captivity though, I could have had an Aimara paid for by now and chances are it would probobly never develop the ol Characin stuppor.
Maybe Hydrolycus just weren't meant for captivity. A FW Great White if you will. None of them seem to thrive.
