Black rays are already here maybe you have not noticed but they arrived already. As for your bailout comment just another STUPID reply from you and not your first and wont be your last thats for sure.

I see the prices coming down on big wild black rays, 4500 for a big trio, and I see breeders trying to maintain their exorbitant prices. I see people saying that big breeding facilities cost money and the ray breeders need to charge the higher prices. Making an observation and correlating it with current events............Thanks for your comment.:WHOA:

Have you noticed that?

i like this thread and have been taking it all in for a while now i have made contact with an importer and i cannot put his name out there but in us dollars for adult breeding type if baught in bundle would cost me for each 2500 this is with shipping to the states but i have to agree with alot of you and of coarse mike he doesnt do what he does for nothing if people are willing to pay the high cost for a very rare buett then so be it if people can only afford a fare looking one at still a high price like 1000 or more then thats the way it is and anything with a ban on it is just going to be triple if not more to get to your door thats why mike at h2o goes crazy everyday in making sure he has top notch breeding pairs going together and his stock is always kept up with so he can cb for us to enjoy a great ray at a fair price i think what does he charge (dont quote me ) but like starting at 1600 and up come on mike is doing us a favor at these prices I just think the government and coruption play a duet with all of us and they too know whats going on but until we find another alternative its off too H2O we go HAPPY HOLIDAYS PEOPLE.

if the prices you quoted are correct us$2500 landed even with a 100% mark up that would only be us$5000 were does this 10,000 euro price come from

Were these prices for just large regular leo or blackdiamond? I am going to take a guess and say regular leo here.

"if the prices you quoted are correct us$2500 landed even with a 100% mark up that would only be us$5000 were does this 10,000 euro price come from"

Quality, it is all about quality. Some people want a Black Diamond Leopoldi others want a Black Diamond Leopoldi that will knock your socks off.

While we are on the Diamond subject anyways I want to give you an example:

Go to Antwerp and go into a diamond store and say you would like to buy a 1 crt diamond. One of the first questions thay will be asked is: "what price category are we looking at".
Price category, why? Is there a huge pricedifference?
The answer is yes.

Color: (The color used in this diagram is for presentation purposes and is not actual color.)

Many experts name color as the number one consideration in choosing a diamond. A diamond's color is graded on an alphabetical scale from D-Z, with D being absolutely colorless and Z being light yellow. Beyond "Z", a diamond is considered to be an exotic or "Fancy" color.
DIAMOND COLOR SCALE DEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZColorlessNear ColorlessFaint YellowVery Light YellowLight Yellow

Since color differences can be so subtle, they are impossible to determine by the untrained eye. To grade a diamond, gemologists often place it on a white background next to another diamond that has been previously graded.
If all other factors are equal, the less color in a diamond or the higher color rating, the more valuable a diamond becomes. Likewise, as the amount of color increases, the price of a diamond decreases (though this does not necessarily reduce the beauty of a diamond.)

Clarity
All diamonds have identifying characteristics, but most are invisible to the naked eye. To view a diamond, experts use a 10x magnifying loupe which allows them to see the appearance of tiny crystals, feathers or clouds. These natural phenomena are called inclusions. There are five categories in class that anyone interested in purchasing a diamond should be aware of when grading clarity.

FL (Flawless) - IF (Internally Flawless)
Flawless Diamonds reveal no flaws on the surface or internally are the rarest and most beautiful gems.
Internally Flawless Diamonds reveal no inclusions and only insignificant blemishes on the surface under 10x magnification.
VVS1 - VVS2 (Very, Very Slightly Included)
Very difficult to see inclusions under 10x magnification. These are excellent quality diamonds.
VS1 - VS2 (Very Slightly Included)
Only looking through a 10X loupe can pinpoint the inclusions in this category and are nearly impossible to see with the naked eye. These are less expensive than the VVS1 or VVS2 grades.
SI1 - SI3 (Slightly Included)
Diamonds with inclusions easily identified under 10x magnification. Finding flaws in this category with the naked eye is difficult. The gems in this category maintain their integrity, depending on the location of the inclusions.
I1 - I3 (Included)
Diamonds with inclusions which may or may not be easily seen by the naked eye. The flaws on the stones in this category will have some effect on the brilliance of your diamond.

After posting the BD from my own collection I have been offered a lot more than 10K for it by multiple people. The thing is finding a ray as beautiful as it is, is almost impossible. I can go out and work and make that money in a couple of months, but it took me years to get these.

I know this all seems a bit much but hasn't this been going on for ages? Think of Koi and the Asian Arowanas. Just because some people don't agree with it doesn't mean it is not realistic.

Crazy? Maybe it is crazy, but when I come home from a hard days work and sit down and relax and watch my black and white pancakes muck around in their tank, money is the last thing on my mind.

they ask you how much you want to spend so they know how much money you have nothing more

chances are if you say you have 10,000 euros to spend you will get the same diamond if you said you had 5,000 euros :D

i maybe wrong but i know more about rays than diamonds

Thats just what I thought so based on what I pay for these rays, I know BD are 3-4x the price from Brazil as regular leopoldi. So do the math.
