surely someone reads this section. you all caught it when i didnt specify what i was talking about and now no one will put in any feedback? help a fellow MFKer out.
well ill just keep updating anyways. Today we have wigglers. the mom is making a pile of the wiggling eggs and all of the tankmates besides male and female are out now. the fry will go into a 10 gallon when they are free swimming and fed fry food which i will go buy today. she still doesnt like the male coming to close.
put it in the central and south american subforum. we love to talk about breeding cichlids and cubans are awesome. you will get much more feedback there.
started a topic in the CA/SA forum too. I dont know how pristine the water is. I am changing that water every 2 weeks right now. It is a 55 and just had 3 2" fish and the cubans so it was a very light load. but this was my water change week. I changed about 5 gallons today but the water was a little low so all in all i would say i changed about 8 gallons and removed the tankmates for good.
I answerd you in your other thread. do your water change and as I said in the other thread get some Hikari First bite's and feed 5x a day or at least 3x a day. After the First bite's run out then just used crushed up pellet's. I have a pair that just spawned a huge clutch as well. These are very lovely fish. The father of these two I have was breeding with 3 different female's so you should be in for some fun time's. Good luck and keep us posted. Feel free to pm me anytime. But as vaine111 stated just keep there water clean and keep them full. And trust me the Dad is involved. He's just a little small. Mine has been bitting me and alway's will since he hit 5''.
i just fed my convicts baby brine shrimp and a high protien flake till they got big enough for frozen bloodworms. and did lots of WC's. out of all the pairs i have had over the years they were the only ones i was able to concentrate on and sucsessfully make money on. since i have been talking about them lately i have been thinking about doing it again. for feeders and profit. not a bad idea.
yeah i got an lfs that wants to buy the fry when they get 1". i dont plan to make much money nor did i really buy them to make money it is a pretty neat thought. i think they are some of the coolest cichlids out there.
