only had HBH baby bites so i settled for that. they are still just wiggling away. however, they are starting to look a little like fish now haha.

Congrats. I just got my first successful spawn from my cubans las week. Then my male cuban had a very nice snack. Damn him.
these were from yesterday or the day before. they moved out of the flower pot today and are hanging out with mom and dad. hope my filter doesnt get them. by the next batch i will have that problem solved but so far so good.
several hundred free swimming now. how do i know if they are eating these baby bites or not. maybe they are just sinking to the bottom and rotting?? im going to change a little water tomorrow and skim the sand with my vac. really dont want to lose any little ones. how long before i should expect them to hit 1"?? how soon could some be shipped?
As for cleaning the tank. They will get out of the way usually. Just watch for them and give them a chance to get out of the way. I have done 3x 50% W/C since my fry have been free swimming. Normally you wont be able to sell them to the LFS until thre 1''-2''. As for shipping I would wait until there at least an inch as well.
They are eating them trust me. You should also be able to see there belly's filling up as well. Just like any other fish your going to loose a few fry you can't save them all. I have a a few fry that still have not shown any growth from other batche's of fry I have. Just provide them with thse basic need's and keep a close eye on them. Feed them 5x a day and you should be set. I would advise at least 30-45% water cahnge 2x a week. This is up to you. I do have friend's who rarely if ever do w/c so it is possiable to get away with out doing them and the fry will live but I highly advise against it as a safe practice and ensure you raise healthy cichlids.
