Curious about Texas...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Been a while but I JUST got an update!

I literally just got an email from a fish supplier that they have a carpinte!
Awaiting photos...

She's called a "galaxy blue" whatever that means - nice marketing name I suppose.

Not sure which variation of the carpinte it is... but she's sending me a photo so I'll post that up as soon as I hear anything!!!

That just cheered up the most boring day at the office!

I pulled this off their site...

Not sure if this is the exact one they've got...

Any ideas?

I'd say they one in the small photo is a lahillas, or maybe the background is just too bright to show more color. If it's not a lahillas then it must be a Texas.
There seems to be no worming in the face therefore it can't be an escondido

galaxy blue just a commercial label for it. That looks just like a regular H.carpintis Escondido, not even high grade.
and it is not lahillas, lahillas has smaller spots with lot more space in between pearl spots, and lahillas also has dark blue chain.

it does have wormy markings on its face, but it is hard to see.

Now wait a minute. The classification of these fish is starting to bug. This fish you pictured looks just like my fish in my thread...

which I was left thinking was a cyano so what the hell? Can one of the brainiacs in this thread clarify what my fish is?

NBK...Looks to be an Escondido! Congrats. I know how long youve been waiting to get your hands on one.

YEP! I don't think I could possibly be more excited!
Two emails in one week from two different people - makes me wonder :)

But one had them in stock and the other said they were expecting the stock next Thursday - so I decided to go with the certain one.

Dominator - thanks for the pics! great to see and definitely will come in handy.

I'm still waiting on proper photos of the carp - but the lady hasn't sent anything over. she said she'd send it yesterday.

Not sure if I should be pushy and ask her again...

if you have already paid for it, don't push but get excited. if not, then do it b/c low quality escondido can be very ugly...
