  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's someone's fish from a local forum I go to.

Strictly on NLS

Switched to Dainichi Veggie Deluxe 40ish days later

However, he suggests 50/50 Dainichi/NLS as Dainichi is low in fat so the combination of the 2 is perfect.

So I just ordered some of the stuff and it got here a couple days ago. All I can say is WOW! Who all is using this stuff and if you are using it, can you post pics of your prize males/fishies that have eaten it for a long time? I got the Ultima and Color Supreme foods. This food looks amazing and the fish seem to love it, I'm just curios what people's long term impressions of it are.

Where can I get some online? I would like to try it too.

Foods are just a matter of opinion anyway. I feed hikari cichlid gold to my oscars, NLS to all my africans and frontosa and pure krill flake once a week. They all love it and I won't bother with anything new.

i use Dainichi. we do not have Hikari over here...Fish love Dainichi.

When I had SW my moray eels and triggers loved Dainichi...

the lighting looks different in the pictures.

yep

Also, while I have no idea if the following is true, as I completely lack photo editing skills, the following was posted on another forum regarding "before & after" photos posted on the Dainichi website.

Interesting. I could not help not to notice something on a link provided to the color fx page. I have worked as a graphic designer for many years and immediately picked up on the fact that the photos have been altered. I did a quick color correction and the fish looks identical before and after being fed with color fx.

Hmmmmmmm.

That could be true for the website but this is from someone who knows his stuff. There's a ton of breeders here in Toronto and most of them swear by Dainichi. However, it is definitely up to the individual to decide. Maybe those here who have just started using Dainichi can take pics of their fishes before and a month later. :) But then, people will probably still claim it's the lighting. Quite an unfortunate side effect of the internet.
