The ich and the birds are unrelated.

If you dont want a net you can use the fake owl like already suggested or some other "scarecrow". You can search on google for other options.

oh okay.... i stop by and get an owl.... and will update if any deaths are report in my graveyard pond...

Check the link i posted. If you can find one of those it will be less $$ and more effective than the owl. That is if you can stand seeing it yourself.

sure thing thanks

the birds might be related to the ich, because there probably freaking the fish out really bad and stress them out. they may be trying to catch the fish but im sure there making a big racket in the tank for a hour or so trying to get out..

the may also be pooping in the water causing problems with your parameters

None of which cause ich. The only thing that causes ich is the protozoa Ichthyophthirius multifilis.

well i know the temp could be, my ammonia is kinda high

What birds are falling into the pond? Perhaps the particular species will let you know what exactly is happening.

Two things:
-Get a scarecrow (fake owl, etc.) of some sort to scare them away.

-Add a rock that protrudes above the water so the birds can get out of the water if they fall in. Birds are terrible swimmers (excluding ducks, geese, swans, and other water birds), so raising the water level might not make that big of a difference since the water would weigh the bird down a good bit. Trust me on the swimming thing; my grandmother has lost multiple chickens to drowning since they fell into a duck pond full to the top with water (or my favorite, one managed to fall into a water bucket twice as tall as it is and drown). The rock would allow the bird to at least get out of the water to dry out before flying away.

This should take care of the problem for at least the most part.
