DEATH METAL

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
real hardcore is like black flag and is not boring at all :D Not that I think Suicide Silence is bad (jury is still out for me), but how you can compare the two just because it's called metalcore, IDK. Biohazard and Suicidal Tendencies is real metalcore, IMO. just because new metalcore "evolved" into what it is now doesn't make it metalcore anymore. IDK, I hate genre naming anyway and am no expert by any means so my opinions and thoughts aren't worth much.

i was more pointing to whom he was working for and how they treat their employees (like just about any other major corporation). I work for the government, lol.

Just curious would anybody consider old avenged sevenfold i.e sounding the seventh trumpet and waking the fallen albums as metalcore?

I don't listen to them but listed to their myspace songs and they are hard to put in a genre, not that genres mean anything. They have metalcore-ish parts, then again their vocals are more like post-hardcore with the mix of shouting and singing. I don't think they fit in a specific genre.

WHAT? If it doesn't have 4 breakdowns its not music! ;)

Out of curiosity...what do you mean by hardcore? Deathcore bands like emmure, acacia strain, suicide silence...etc? Lately i hear "hardcore" a lot when referring to bands like that, which tour with metal bands. It doesn't make sense to me, as hardcore is its own genre. Well it has sub genres like hardcore punk, but still. I don't think of brees, growls, and chugging breakdowns when i hear "hardcore."

Yeah those are actually some of the bands I've suffered through. Got in a fight with some guy "dancing" who elbowed my friend in the head while we were sitting at the bar during Suicide Silence.
While I'm familiar with the roots of hardcore as a genre and that it has very little to do with current hardcore, thats the accepted term for it. Some of the old stuff is ok, as far it goes but the current incarnation makes me sick. That whole metal as fashion trend needs to die.

i work for the state (CO DOW) and i have a lot of freedom, so it's pretty good. except for governor dill-hole making us take unpaid days off when we're already exempt from getting paid for overtime and getting comp days.

Lately I've been really into technical dm and blackened dm.

Stuff ranging from Emeth, Prostitute Disfigurement, Psycroptic, Inveractity, Myrkskog, Panzerchrist and Tyrann.

I listen to a ton of black metal but I'll leave that out of this thread...:)
