dont be sorry...just be sure to do the research and understand your fish/pets before purchasing them. too many animals find improper homes do to people impulse buying them.

Unless you know this kid, this is a lil harsh. He disrespected fish,.....You disrespected him......

apparently you underestimate the power and aggression of red eared sliders..my pair has claimed the lives of a countless feeder bullfrogs, goldfish, guppies, mealworms and crickets:headbang2 , an african pike:eek:, 26" african lungfish:WHOA:, a black shark:naughty:, all my mum's koi:ROFL:, copper cheeked frogs:grinno:, and my bro's senegal bichir:(. also, they've countlessly attacked our catfish and are currently trying to eat out tinfoil barb, tilapia and toman(giant snakeheads).:screwy:

so a betta? not a chance.

Ouch! That is one way to put it. I would have said...."Are you kidding a 15 is not big enough for 1 of anything you mentioned except the betta..." But you beat me too it before I could go the "soft" rout....

that's another case altogether. the animals would have been crammed in there and i'm still wondering why the hell he didn't realise that and give them more tank space.

as stated earlier, and cannot be reiterated enough...research, research, research. i don't know how many times we've posted in gar-related forums that gator gars are the most aggressive species and their drive to feed (especially when young) leaves pretty much no tankmate safe.

the betta with the turtles is one of the most ridiculous things i've read in a while. and, as stated above, it's sad but true, but very often the LFS workers have no idea what they are talking about...check online with several fishkeepers before doing something like putting a betta or delhezi in with turtles just because the LFS says it's ok.

and yes, a 15g is waaaaaay too small a grow-out tank for that many fishes. maybe each one individually, but not all together. that betta was doomed from the start.

and xander, how did your turtle(s) kill so many fishes before it was realized that this was a mistake as well? either they did it in one or two nights, or this was also a poor judgement call as well. everyone makes mistakes (i've made my fair share, that's for sure).--

Why didn't you take them out? Not too smart on your part either to lose that many fish :screwy:

i never said it was a mistake. the turtles are still in the same pond with the tinfoil barb, tilapia and toman. the only mistake was the african lung, but it, along with everything else didn't belong to me(sorry, i accidentally said the turtles were mine, but they're my brothers. a fact which i neglected to mention which is now making me sound like a brat trying to shift the blame..). anyways the african pike was an impulse buy on a friends part, whom i've countlessly tried to advise against impulse buying. and when he had no where else to put it, it went into the pond. sadly, but i had no other means of housing him otherwise.

i only said he was an idiot to house turtles with bettas. that's like puitting gars w bettas

the reason i put my betta in wit the 3 red ears was cos they didnt seem to try n eat the eletric blue zebra stripped fish n the two molly's n the two dwarf gouramis. so i thought it was safe . well think of buyin a new betta n this time im takin the turts out. btw is it ok if i move the turts in wit d gars? but ders a del n peacock eel in der. n today i woke up to find my Ornate dead. no bite marks or nethin. jus dead. i think some one did sumfin wit ma tank cos last nyt it was damn cloudy wit white stringy stuff floatin arnd. n i know it wasnt leftova feed cos i didnt feed em. i even did a water change. dont know y he had to die.
