oh all the poor people with no computers and beautiful tanks. and dear mfk people who mix bettas w sliders. not saying that there aren't awesome mfk members(which there are), but you can't say that any given member of mfk is DEF more imformed then the normal "fishkeeper"...








what do you think this place is? a stocklist generator?! as jordan said, do research!, go figure what fish you like and then do research, and then see if you can house it COMFORTABLY for life, and THEN consider getting it. but only get the fish once the tank is set up. i highly do not suggest mixing turtles with any fish actually.....and FYI plecos can and do kill gars by sucking their slime coat off.

you pretty much read my thoughts. common sense and a bit of research can go a very long way.

brief points:

1- your 15g is WAY overstocked with the fishes there presently. get a bigger tank. if you want to grow out those same fishes, get a 50g breeder.

2- plecos shouldn't be kept with gars OR bichirs. this is a research issue, look up as to why this is the case.

3- you can't always count on being able to sell your fish, especially one like a gator gar...same with giving it back to the LFS.

4- RESEARCH before you buy. you can put several community fishes in your 15g, but that's about it, generally speaking.

5- turtles and fishes (even fly river turtles) generally DO NOT mix. don't force this scenario.

thanx everyone for this info. im thinkin of keepin the turtles seperate in a tank. then im sendin my gar , sen to my dad.

so heres wot im goin to do

in d 15g

a school of tetras
some cory cats
then some dwarf gouramis.

nething else i should keep?

the turtles are now in a

15 in x 10.5 in x 10 in tank . if i move them then they will be in a more lil tank. is this ok?? there are three turtles . might be around 3 inches shell size.

This is some amazing stuff... even to think a gar would be in a 15g alone wouldn't be enough.... dunno what to say personally i dont beleive any of the **** i hear from people cept when i do my research and which ever one comes up the most thats what i go with.

turtles will need a larger tank eventually, but for now if they are only 3" carapace length then they should be OK with frequent large water changes. keep in mind turtle water quality degrades very quickly--

lol big bro always jumps in at the last min to save the day lol. neways thanx all. im off to clean the turtle tank. it smells like ****. n jus now my gar attacked my eel. managed to pry em off. but think ill have to move the gar as soon as i can. DAMN THOSE PPL AT THE LFS.
