The pellets are to big for him. Also, how long does it take for you to tell the difference between a Male and a Female Delhezi Bichir?

At 4", I wouldn't feed pellets more than 1.5mm. The size of it's mouth is much bigger than its throat. Imagine swallowing a whole McD chicken nugget without chewing.

It's not about how long takes to tell if it's male or female, it's when it gets to the appropriate size, roughly 7-8" total length.

I think I’ll stick with Brine Shrimp

brine shrimp is not a whole diet their should be variation like pellets break them up if they are too big
