Delhezi Bichir Growout Thread

Starting this thread ongoing for the 4 inch Delhezi Bichir I got from petzonesd.com . Just to keep track. I posted a rough scale of him there. My sister “badazzled” my ruler. Then my dog got it. Sooooo...you can understand why I don’t want to post a picture with him next to it ?. He is very active. Every time I walk into the room, he is swimming against the glass. I don’t think that is normal Bichir behavior. Is it?

I don’t know. He is getting bigger. This was when we first got it. He is now a little over 4 inches. Feeding him frozen Brine Shrimp. He is SUPER active. Way more active than I was expecting. He is swimming all around the tank almost al he time. Should I be worried?

I’m pretty sure dels are one of the more active species, it looks healthy.

Ok. Been doing great! A full 55 g long to himself. Just wondering, how often do you feed your bichirs?

at that size I like to feed 2-3 times a day to bulk up but thats just me I do huge wcs anyways but 1-2 times a day is good glad you finally got somthing lol congrats they are great fish what are you feeding?

Ok, he has some Congo Tetra friends with him now. Started feeding him Shrimp Pellets. Havent seen him eat one, but i started this morning

He is not taking shrimp pellets. Should I just wait? Tetras are right next to the filter, so all the food they eat is going down onto the ground. Sparky isn’t taking their food. Why do I need to feed him shrimp pellets instead of brine shrimp?

its a more balanced and nutritional diet and just wait him out he will eat it
