I have encountered a few problems.
The LED light hood thing stopped working randomly, so I needed to buy a new light. The light was $80, and is a StingRay. I wanted to get the 130 dollar light, but, well, for obvious reasons I didn't.
The female Tetra who supposedly had Popeye died. She died overnight, with no symptoms at all. At the time, the balance was 3 males and 2 females. The only thing I saw was the males abnormally chasing her around, wanting to breed. I think the males got carried away because when I found her, most of her fins were either gone or chewed up. So now the ratio is 3 males 1 female, and I still haven't decided what I want to do with them.
While doing a water change last week, the bubbler randomly stopped. I needed to buy a new rubber line thing because it seemed the Tetras had chewed through it. There was a hole.
On the bright side, I removed decorations so Sparky can have more room. I still can't get an exact measure on him, but he is at least 8 inches, upwards of 9. He also has took the liking of fresh rockfish. When we go out on boats, I save him the smallest fillet and feed it to him overtime. He also is not a fan of the cichlid pellets so much. I didn't realize their were sizes of pellets, so got the large one, and he is eating them now.
