If they had reason to believe the victim was still in danger either from the suspect or injuries received they would still be within their legal rights to enter....

Depending on the laws in Florida and the county. They may have to show that there was a reason to suspect she was on the property. If they have a reason to suspect that she was on the property then yes.

you can basically go just about anywhere you please if there is cause like the circumstances at hand........I understand where the people against the cops are coming from but its part of the job and you can find plenty of people that are bad at jobs yet still have them its just how it works. A lot of the hate against cops nowadays is based off incidents that happen every couple weeks in one or two states. Think of how many cops or deputies there are and then think of the ones that actually are bad people. Think of how many crappy situations they have to go into and the amount that actually go wrong. They have bad days at work just like you do and for the most part can handle it pretty well. There are bad apples in every profession dont throw everyone else under the bus.

Cop haters, no. But I do hate those that think just because they uphold the law, they are above it. Just imagine what the world would be like if regular civilians could get away with the things that these badge-heavy scumbags get away with on a daily basis.

Hmmm, this may be slightly off topic... but I've never ever seen a cop car use its blinker, for anything (in LA). Not for changing lanes, nor for turning. I was even almost hit by a cop car once because it made a right turn, and swung all the way out into the middle lane, upon which I was driving.

Bet if I did that I'd get a ticket.

Obviously, this is many, many orders of magnitude less severe than shooting people's dogs, but maybe breaking traffic laws are the "gateway" into more serious offenses? Who knows.

..makes me sick when this crap happens..its not the fist time i have seen stories like this..cops killing dogs for doing nothing more then running up to the police and barking at them on THERE OWN property.......

just what the hell do they expect a dog to do when an armored gun toting stranger come in to there yard with out there owner around?!?!?!?!?!,..what should all pet owners be forced to train there dogs to run and cower from someone with a gun so they dont get shot when a cop comes to knock on your door?.

its sick and something needs to be done. for this case and all the other case of this.....

my dog is 9..and has protected me in situations where i was in danger...she would protect me if a police officer came at me with a gun, this i have no doubt, she would also listen when i told her to back off ...If i cop shot my dog for barking at them...well the cops would have allot more to deal with than a dead dog, she is my family, i love her like a child, they would have Hell to deal with if a cop shot my dog "because they felt threatened"

K-9 units lose dogs because theyre killed in the line of duty. Those never get as much attention as these do.....

No one is saying they shouldn't, of course. But one does not justify the other.

it happens twice maybe three times a year in country where almost every house hold has a dog... lets be realistic people. Its a sad story but the amount of emotion coming from some of you is over the top.

K-9 unit gets killed and the shooter gets the same charge as if he shot a cop.
