It is irrelevant whose yard it was. The police had reason to believe the individual may or might have traveled through or been in the yard they had a legal reason to enter the property, end of story. It false under the exigent circumstance exception to the law. We are beating a dead horse here...

Not in every state. As a cop you really should be aware of this.

Find me a state that the exigent circumstance exception in one form or another doesn't exist....or the hot pursuit exception...need I go on? There are several other exceptions that would allow them in the yard....

Amazing all the cop haters there are. :screwy:

Cop haters, no. But I do hate those that think just because they uphold the law, they are above it. Just imagine what the world would be like if regular civilians could get away with the things that these badge-heavy scumbags get away with on a daily basis.

Due to you obvious immaturity, your post isn't even worth more of a response than this...

What Utah doesn't have armed nuts? Really? We've lost good police officers because they knocked on the wrong door in NY. You don't think some nut will open fire over a dog.

Very true. we get patients in more often than you would think brought in to the hospital with injuries that just don't match the good o officers explanation. I know that there are alot of great cops out there but there is far to much leniency given to those that have a badge.

I see where you stand. If they was no law it would be as such.

I don't know who you are referring to in reference to this thread and the original story...none of the officers involved fit your description of a "badge-heavy scum bag" all were well with in their legal rights in the performance of their duty. And I live in a world that is far worse than the one you asked me to imagine.

The definition of exigent circumstances differ. No trail or tracks, eyewitness or noise to suggest she's there would have bared them from entering in many states.

In general. There is no video footage of what happened here so it's basically only the officer's account, which you either believe or don't believe. So I can't make that determination in this case.
