theres no current filtration when i get paid on friday i'm getting a canister filter to fit in that box that was the whole point of the box to hide everything no i'm sticking with the coffee table for now maybe go to a stand when I get a house either that or build it into the wall

I had no issue with my buddies gravel vac that ive been using once u get the water going its fine

Doesnt look very useful. I mean, you have to get on the ground to properly see the fish. Why not make a stand for it and move it out of the TV viewing space a bit.

no it will only go till the level of the water in the bucket or watever is draining into reaches the height of the water in the tank.

the bucket ive been using is prolly to the 1/2 way mark or so on the tank just wider but i had no problem taking a 1/4 to a 1/3 of it out to do a clean up and swap some water in from my other tank

If you sat in front of it on the couch youd see that its far enough out that you get a perfect view the top is clear glass after all you can see through it too

I've had this idea before (and many others) If you like it it's fine. One piece of advice for you. I run two large ponds. I have had several canister filters, and they do not work too well when ran at the same level as the water. Most(except FX5 so far) will barely run at the same height as the water, and eventually the motors may burn up as in two of my canister filters. The FX5 seems to be the only one because the pump is at the bottom that works fine with water at the same height as it. Most canister filters are designed to have a little gravity assistance. If you can move the height of the tank up at least 6" more and then your canister filter should not have much of a problem. Hope this helps. Maybe I just had a bad expirience running them the same height lol.

theres already a glass table top on there I made it so it was impossible for the cat to get too i dont want cat hair and junk in the tank

thanks for the advise with the filter being level with the water i was looking at a relitively cheap canister filter but ill look into it a little more and see if i can find out where the pump is in it cuz i dont want it to not work right

were you running fluvals or wht type of filters were they i was playing with the idea of a 70 gal filter with a powerhead filter or an aquaclear with it but i was advised to just run a 100 gal canister and i found a pretty good deal on one
